way

Literally, a path or road, but in the Bible a term that is often used in more figurative ways. It can describe “natural” patterns of behavior observed in the world (Prov 30:19), God’s patterns of activity (Ps 18:30; Isa 55:8-9), or human lifestyles (Ps 1:6). In the NT, Jesus is identified as the Way to a new relationship with God (John 14:4-6), and the early Christians are known as followers of “the Way” (Acts 9:2; Acts 19:9; Acts 19:23; Acts 24:22; Mark 10:52).
